  • Wildfire Relief Bundle

First Nations communities across Canada are facing devastating wildfires that are forcing families from their homes, threatening traditional territories, and disrupting connections to land, culture and community.

In response, the Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund is providing emergency funding to First Nations affected by wildfires and Indigenous-led organizations already offering frontline support to evacuated First Nation members.

Who Can Apply?

You may be eligible to apply if you are:

  • A First Nation directly affected by a wildfire emergency; or
  • An Indigenous-led and Indigenous-serving organization actively supporting evacuated First Nation members in an urban centre.
Applicants must be located in, or serving affected communities in:
  • British Columbia
  • Manitoba
  • Ontario
  • Saskatchewan
If you are supporting a wildfire-affected First Nation outside these provinces and believe you should be eligible, please contact the IPRF team.

Eligible applicants must be one of the following:
  • A registered charity
  • A not-for-profit organization
  • A First Nation
  • Another First Nations, Métis or Inuit council

Unincorporated community groups, collectives, individuals and for profit organizations are not eligible for direct funding through this program, and must apply through an established partnership with a First Nation, registered charity or registered not-for-profit.

How much can you apply for?

You can apply for up to $30,000.

IPRF has $1 million available for wildfire relief. We know this is only a small part of what communities need. Please ask for what you need most urgently so that we can support as many of our relatives as possible during this difficult time.

All funding must go directly toward immediate community relief and support. Funding cannot be used for administration.

What happens after you apply?

Applications will be reviewed as they are received. A member of the IPRF team may contact you by phone if we need more information.

Unfortunately, we will not be able to support every request. The application portal will close once all available funding has been committed.

Organizations that receive funding will be asked to complete a short, simple report about how the funding supported community.
